FOUR WEEKS :- Start spring cleaning, use up frozen food, contact
Government departments, contact children’s new school, notify hire purchase
companies.
THREE WEEKS :- Start packing, plan placement of furniture in new
home and make a list of persons to notify about move.
TEN DAYS :- Organize final readings for house services, telephone, gas etc., finalise outstanding accounts, arrange for house cleaning.
SEVEN DAYS :- Have car serviced, return library books, cancel local deliveries, re-direct mail, dismantle swings, trampolines, pre-fabricated furniture, cubby houses and garden sheds.
THREE DAYS :- Dispose of flammable liquids, arrange for children and pets to be looked after on removal day, collect items left for repair, notify neighbours of any possible disruption and confirm final removal details with removalist.
ONE DAY TO GO :- Check outside and inside for items that may have been missed, empty refrigerator and freezer, place medication in a safe place, water and prepare pot plants, pack personal items, check all closets and cupboards, empty fuel from mower, empty gas cylinders, locate and secure documents and valuables.
MOVING DAY :- Please keep front of house clear for moving van and remind neighbours about your move.
PLEASE NOTE :- If you elected to pack cartons yourself and have not finished, please advise us as this could cause delays on removal day.
